Warnings/Precautions

If you are or will be breast–feeding while you are using Zofran, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.. Some medicines may interact with Zofran. Therefore tell your doctor of all prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement that you are taking. Use Zofran with extreme caution in children younger than 4 months of age. Safety and effectiveness in this age group have not been confirmed.

Missed Dose


It is important that Zofran be given prior to cancer chemotherapy as directed. If you miss a dose of Zofran, contact your doctor or pharmacist. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

Possible Side Effects


Some of the Possible Side Effects are- Constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, irritation, redness, pain, or burning at the site of injection, tiredness. Contact your doctor if any of these or other side effects occur. If you experience any of the following serious side effects, you should seek medical attention immediately- allergic reactions (rash, hives, itching, difficulty breathing, tightness in the chest, swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue), chest pain, fever, skin tingling or numbness, trouble urinating, vision changes or loss.

Storage


Store Zofran as directed by your doctor. Keep Zofran out of the reach of children.

Overdose


If overdose is suspected seek medical attention immediately. Some of the symptoms of Zofran overdose are- fainting, severe dizziness, slowed/irregular heartbeat, sudden, temporary blindness.

More Information


Zofran may cause drowsiness or dizziness. These effects may worsen if Zofran is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Use Zofran with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you react to this drug. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, contact your doctor. Zofran should be used only by the patient for whom it has been prescribed. Do not take less or more or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.
